RUSSIA-AFRICA ECONOMIC FORUM: Russia promises to double the volume of trade with Africa within the next four years

Speaking at the opening of the Russia-Africa Economic Forum, Russian President Vladmir Putin promised to double the current volume of trade between his country and African countries, currently estimated at US$25 billion a year in food.

Russia is one of the 10 largest food suppliers to Africa, and this is the industry representing the highest percentage of the current volume of trade.
The President of Russia said that his country wants to double, within the next four/ five years, the current volume of trade, which stands at US$25 billion a year in food.

Mozambican economy diplomacy

The President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, who headed the Mozambican delegation, said that the country took advantage of the Russia-Africa Forum to do economic diplomacy, selling Mozambique’s image to Russia and finding opportunities and partnerships.
In Sochi, the Head of State held several bilateral meetings with Heads of States and Governments of African Countries, as well as with top representatives of Russian and African companies and found the meetings valuable and promising.
